I will dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
